Jean-Pierre Tremblay, PhD

My research program seek to improve our understanding of trophic interactions between abundant populations of large herbivores, primary producers and their resources. The reseach conducts in my labs try to elucidate the relative role of resources versus over-browsing in controlling boreal forest/tundra composition, structure and ecological processes in both managed and natural habitats. There are pressing needs to acquire reliable knowledge in this field given concerns about the ecological sustainability of abundant ungulate populations in many regions of world, especially in northern ecosystems facing accelerated climate changes.
